I believe next week is Iowa Girls Basketball tournament in Des Moines.I found this old picture of my sister Lois and I in our Basketball "Vikette" uniforms. We played 6 on 6 basketball. It was unique to Iowa and ended about 5 years after I graduated.
Since I was tall, I was a "Post Forward". Look at the Converse tennis shoes, stripped tube socks, knee pads and of course the short shorts. Iowa girls basketball is quite an institution. I really have some great memories playing basketball in Iowa!!
