Now we have a son at Iowa that will be a junior next year and our daughter will be starting this fall as a freshman. Go HAWKS!!!!

Dime Store Displays

This great Saf-T Pop Dime store display was for sale at the Hansen's Grove Antique Show this past 4th of July. It reminded me of how as a child we would love to go to Hester's 5 & 10 store in my hometown of Avoca, Iowa to buy candy!!! I love those old candy store displays!!

The Hollyhocks are in Bloom

I remember making hollyhock dolls out of these vintage beauties. This year they don't seem to be as pretty as last year, but we do have pink, white and magenta.

Great Iowa Road Trip

Jessica and I took off Monday and road tripped to Dubuque then, down to Bellevue and over to Maquoekta and eventually back to Iowa City. It was a perfect day and we had a great time!
